How can technology help Scotland’s public sector protect against ransomware and other forms of cyber-crime, and should they occur mitigate and recover from their effects, including data loss?

Lupovis

The solution

Lupovis is a cyber deception and threat intelligence company. They deploy decoys to lure and trick cyber attackers into believing they are interacting with your real assets; in reality, you are being bought time and given the upper hand in defending against the attack. The decoys can be deployed both inside and outside your network, allowing Lupovis to gain contextual threat intelligence and provide high fidelity alerts when your perimeter is breached.

The Opportunity

The overall global cyber security market reached in excess of ~$220bn. Furthermore, the global Critical Infrastructure market is estimated to grow to ~£108bn by 2025. The initial target market sector for Lupovis is CI organisations; for example, UK Government data confirms that 90% of UK CIs have suffered a breach in the past 2 years, at a cost of £34bn per annum.

Next Steps

The public sector needs protection from ransomware. Over the next twelve months Lupovis will deploy decoys in a variety of networks to actively detect cyber-attacks. The information gathered from these attacks will then be used to create strategic level guidance and operational level interventions — stopping the adversaries in their tracks

The Team

The Lupovis team is made up of academics and industry professionals, balancing ground-breaking research with provision of a robust product today. The two co-founders — Xavier and Ivan — have decades of academic experience. Joining them are a team of tech experts who know about building scalable long-term solutions.
